From 1 July 2013 it is compulsory
for most external windows and doors to be CE Marked under new
European Standards. As part of our compliance, all fully glazed
products are CE Marked by Advanced Aluminium and all relevant
declaration of performance (DoP) are available for customers to
download from our website.
Options that are available to our customers:-
Option 1 - Ordering complete CE Marked product from
Advanced Aluminium
For example a glazed window and Doors.
Fully glazed products are CE Marked
by Advanced Aluminium and DoP's are available to download from our
website.
Option 2 - Ordering Non-CE Marked products from Advanced
Aluminium
For example ordering a window frame from us and glass unit sourced
separately by you, to produce the complete product.
In this case, customer can only use
relevant contents of our DoP's as customer is responsible for CE
Marking the final product.
This document is intended to
explain the requirements for Initial Type Testing, Factory
Production Control and how to produce a Declaration of Performance
and CE mark windows and external doorsets with thermal performance
as the one mandatory characteristic being placed on the market in
England and Wales. Further guidance should be sought from Advanced
Aluminium for any other performance declaration or products.
Windows and external doorsets fall
under the scope of the standard when they are fully fabricated and
glazed at which point they must be CE marked. The 'manufacturer' is
the one that carries out the final assembly and glazing tasks and
places the product on the market in its finished state for the
first time.
From 1st July 2013 it will become
mandatory for the 'manufacturer' to CE mark windows and doors that
fall under the scope of the EN14351-1 windows and external doorsets
without resistance to fire and/or smoke leakage product
standard.
CE Marking requires:
ITT:- Initial Type Testing by a Notified Body
FPC:- Factory Production Control by the
manufacturer
CE:- The preparation and issue of the Declaration
of Performance & the application of the CE mark by the
manufacturer
